Title: Field Installation Technician / Tower Climber

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Field Tech will provide installation, support, and service of Wireless and communication infrastructures. They will have competency and training to fully understand all the hazards related to this type of work. Field Tech will work with various clients to support their day to day operations. This person will be part of the Service and Operations organization whose goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention and increases our responsibilities and reliability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and service on Wireless and communication Infrastructures
- Maintain liaison relations with customers to ensure we can maintain all required services
- Provide support to and for other departments as needed
- Maintain a high level of professional expertise in Wireless and communication Technologies
- Installation of premise hardware, including but not limited to, plywood back boards, conduit, structured cabling, patch panels, UPS, PDU, relay racks, data cabinets, and NEMA boxes
- Perform assigned duties in a timely manner with self-motivating and high energy
- Able to follow instructions and work independently and have a solid multi-tasking ability
- Ability to read and follow flow diagrams and support documentation
- Ability to routinely lift/carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more
- Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet while carrying 50lbs and 150 ft, while carrying 70 lbs
- Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials
- Climbs and works on towers for installing, service or replacing equipment
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- College or Technical degree preferred
- Or equivalent hands on work experience; 2-5 years relevant technical experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of data and wiring industry standards
- Current Com Train (or equivalent) certification in tower climbing or successfully complete Com Train’s certification training within 90 days of being hired
- Working knowledge of RF industry standards preferred
- Versed in PC usage and basic networking skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information in non-technical terms
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Some travel required
- Ability to work off hours
- Appropriate vehicle for this type of work required
- Positive, professional image
- Basic tools required as well as Ladders needed
